Refreshed brand elements and a new online presence.

Background

Helping North America's leading bus manufacturer through a complete brand and website overhaul.

Overview

New Flyer, part of the NFI Group (TSE: NFI) family of companies, is the leading North American bus manufacturer of heavy-duty zero-emission transit buses. Established in 1930, its innovative approach to drive systems underlies its current offering of clean diesel, natural gas, diesel-electric hybrid, trolley-electric, battery-electric and fuel cell-electric transit vehicles.

A revamped digital experience for New Flyer involved taking the beginnings of a brand refresh and expanding it out to a design system that could be implemented on its main web property, newflyer.com, as well as its marketing collateral and campaigns.

Colour Palette

Clean, modern design

New Flyer wanted to refresh their brand to accurately reflect their commitment to renewable energy sources (Xcelsior CHARGE NG™) as well as automated buses (Xcelsior AV™). Leveraging the existing logo and primary brand colors, we introduced a revised color palette, an all new set of icons and illustrations and aclean photographic style inspired by today’s leading electric vehicles.

After defining the new brand and website design, we continued to re-design New Flyer's entire library of print collateral including brochures, product sheets, internal documents, presentation templates and more.

In order to be consistent across all print and web collateral, we used New Flyer's CAD files to render out an entire library of the New Flyer bus family in 3D (with the bus wraps we designed for their APTA tradeshow).

Icons & Illustrations

With New Flyer’s focus on renewable energy and autonomous driving, a new website was needed to communicate their message, features and benefits to customers and stakeholders.

New Website Features

Finding inspiration in some of today’s leading electric car manufacturer’s sites, the website UX, design and backend of the website was redone from the ground up. 3D modeled and textured buses were rendered to fit seamlessly on photo backgrounds for a consistent look across the site.

Interactive floorplans, 360 degree exterior views, easily accessible features and benefits, rendered bus visuals and all-new illustrations and icons were used for consistency helping visitors find information effortlessly.
